As a teenager, I was deeply impressed by the film directed by Losey in 1979. Ruggero Raimondi portrayed a Don Juan both sensual and cruel in enchanting settings. Later, while strolling in Venice, I rediscovered this atmosphere filled with mysteries; the scent of incense in churches, the stone of ancient villas, and the misty canals became a source of inspiration to evoke the fragrance of Don Giovanni. A mythical character in literature, Don Juan continues to fascinate us as an eternal myth that resonates with our intimate concerns: Eros and Thanatos, God, time, eternity, and our human nature.
